Outdoor amenities include a BBQ, located on a good sized deck, perfect for cooking and dining al fresco. Awesome little cabin! We were very happy with the cleanliness of this cabin, the location and the upgrades were very nice! The only thing I can say negatively is that the kitchen was not well stocked so it made cooking challenging. Also, there were no board games or any cards which was a little disappointing because we have always had cabins that were stocked In both of those areas hence we never brought anything to accommodate. Other then that it was very nice and we were very happy with our experience.

Our trip was wonderful!Lava Top 1 was clean, comfortable, and well-located. Check in and check out were easy and smooth.Bike trails were wonderful.We drove up to an area southeast of Madras and had an incredible view of the eclipse!We had three of our four adult sons with us. We came to Sun River many times when they were younger. We all enjoyed re-visiting the wonderful Nature Center, Planetarium, restaurants, etc.We will be back!

This was a great house for a family and a dog. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the house came with plenty of supplies (TP, dishwasher soap, etc.) The few small things we had that needed attention were taken care of right away. It was right down the street from SHARC which was very convenient. This was our first time there, so we didn't really know the layout. We were along a main drive (Beaver Drive) and also train tracks, so there was a lot of traffic noise at night (it was very hot and all our windows were open) and the train went by twice per night. The only thing that would have been nice would be to have some better lighting in the house. It was very dim and in the evenings hard to read a book without a flashlight! Overall, great experience and we would rent from Cascara again!

The only thing that could have been different, was anot email or phone call letting me know the office had closed early when I went to pick up the keys. Otherwise the stay was wonderful. While it is true that some of the homes in Sunriver are more dated than other it is good knowing that you still made best of the home and its nearby location to the pool and village. This homeowner is planning to update the kitchen this fall, and maybe the half bath as well! We hope that if you do come again to Sunriver that you find it even better than this trip!

We enjoyed a comfortable, relaxing stay in the woods, but this cozy A-frame could use updates... Including lighting (lamps in the living area) and curtains to darken the bedrooms from the early morning sun, also the flooring in the laundry/back door area is in need of attention. We did enjoy the one newly updated bathroom, the second bath is functional, but dated. The 4 bikes and storage area were a plus. Location was close enough to the shark for a 5- minute bike ride, and pass than a mile to the shopping center.

We loved it! The house was a perfect size for the 4 of us. Plenty of dishware and pots/pans to do the cooking. Grill worked well. Beds were comfy. Kids loved the loft, added an additional fun factor. Furniture comfy and everything was very clean. Location is very close to the village and short walk from Fort Rock. Train is hardly noticeable. I never heard it in the morning and the rest of the family heard it only some mornings. The deer loved the yard too. About four of them, including 2 babies just sat out front for hours.

Great location! Easy bike ride to SHARQ and the village. The house smelled a little musty when we arrived. Could have used an air out before we got there and there were a few cobwebs. Bring your own spices and laundry soap if you want those because all the house has is salt and pepper. Overall the house worked well for us!

LavaTop 1 is a great place to stay in SunRiver. There is everything a family could need, including two bedrooms downstairs, a loft with two beds, two bathrooms, a large living room with a fireplace and a nice, well-appointed kitchen. The furnishings are nice, and there are lots of windows. Also, it's pet friendly - our dogs loved it!We knew there were bikes that came with the rental, but we were happy to find 6 (!) bikes in the shed - two adult sizes, two for bigger kids, and two for smaller kids. (You will need to bring or rent helmets and bike locks, though.) A bike is the perfect way to get around the resort. You also get passes to the SHARC and Mavericks - and we found out the Mavericks pass also gets you into the North Pool!This rental is very centrally located, so you can get to the many cool features of the resort by bike (or by foot, or by car, if you must) very easily. Our favorites were Fort Rock Park, which was great for the dogs, SHARC and Mavericks for the kids, and the Nature Center and Marina. But I also enjoyed just riding a bike around the River Loops.The one drawback to Lava Top 1 is that it's a bit noisy - it is right on Beaver Drive, one of the busiest roads in the resort, and is also really close to the train tracks. Trains go by several times a day, including in the middle of the night, so be prepared for a bit of intermittent noise from trains and traffic. We did hear some coyotes too, though, which was cool!All told, we loved our stay at Lava Top 1, and the Sunray (now Cascara) staff were very nice and super accommodating. I would highly recommend this place and this management company.

This cabin has a quirky, cute, vintage dcor. Some of the wallpapers tucked in little corners "cracked me up." Reminded me of my childhood. The bedrooms were nice. The kids loved the loft. The kitchen was well-stocked. The dining room had a nice large table and a cozy window seat. The only real complaint was the somewhat old TV that buzzed while you watched it.

Notes

PET POLICY
Pets are allowed in homes classified as pet-friendly homes with management pre-approval and a non-refundable pet fee. Please note the following policies at our pet-friendly homes.

  1. Cascara welcomes pets for an additional fee of $10 per night/per pet.
  2. All pets must be on a leash or under voice command at all times when outside of the home.
  3. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after all pet waste.
  4. Pets are not allowed on furniture at any time. Evidence of pets on furniture may incur additional deep cleaning fees.
  5. Additional fees may apply if your pet causes damage or disturbances to premises or furnishings or leaves excessive amounts of hair.
  6. Guests should prevent pets from producing excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors. Cascara reserves the right to remove guests whose pets are deemed noisy or disruptive.
  7. Pet will not be left unattended on balcony, patio, or porch. If you leave the pet in the home while you are gone the pet will need to be placed in a pet carrier to avoid any scratches or damages to walls and trim while left unattended.
  8. Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Cascara Vacation Rentals, its operators and owners and their respective affiliates from all liability and/or damage suffered as a result of their pet.

Guest will be solely responsible for the pet while on the property and in Sunriver.

No Smoking Policy

All Cascara Vacation properties do not permit smoking inside the vacation homes or condos. This includes, but is not limited to; tobacco, marijuana, vape pens, vaping, cartridges containing liquid nicotine, hookahs, cigars, or any lighted inhaled material. Any damage caused by smoking is 100% the responsibility of the guest on file. Sunriver is surrounded by the abundant wooded area of the Deschutes National Forest, which makes for a very high wildfire risk in the warm months.

According to Sunriver Owners Association Rules and Regulations:

Smoking of cigarettes, pipes, or other substances on or along any road, drive, lane (except within an enclosed motor vehicle), pathway, trail, or any SROA owned property is prohibited unless specifically permitted by signage.
