Quirky cabin

Posted By: Anonymous from Clackamas, OR | Posted On: Jul 4, 2017

Good location- walkable to Sharc.
Modern features and nice details.
Reasonable priced
Little privacy as all rooms are connected in long hallway. Yes there are doors but have to walk through other people's bedroom to get to main living area. Hallway of bedrooms starts with the two "lofts", bathroom with doors to loft and first bedroom. Then you walk into second bedrom from the fillies the, then through a kitchenette which has bathroom off of it, into bunk bedroom.

Sunriver Winter Getaway!

Posted By: Ellen J. from Grants Pass, OR | Posted On: Jan 19, 2017

We almost had to cancel our reservation due to heavy snow...but we managed to drive slowly and arrive to enjoy a sunny winter-land weekend! The unusual floor plan actually worked out for us because of children. I highly recommend using the SHARC passes. We were able to access the sledding park right down the road from the house for free with the passes. There were some glitches due to the snow (glad we brought our own shovels) and no water to one of the upstairs baths, but we were sure that had to do with the weather conditions. Cascara staff were wonderful to work with! I would rent this home again!

We had been wanting to get away for Christmas for a few years now. I found this house and my husband loved the wood interior. So we went for it!! We were not disappointed!! We had a blast and loved the quirky layout! We have 4 boys and they all loved to also. The game room was a hit!! And the fireplace was so nice on the 0 degree nights. Lol! Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

Cabin in the Woods

As stated by past quest the lay out was a bit quirky. We found it fun! Lots to keep you busy inside. Board games, tons of books, childrens toys, checkers, chess, pool table, fooseball, even some exercise equipment. Great location. Walking distance to the village and park. Lots of trail for walking and biking all over sunriver. The main living area and game room stayed very cool even in 90 degree weather withou AC. Deck and jacuzzi was private. Great family friendly place to stay for checking out Sunriver, bend, lava caves, high desert museum,Paulina Peak, Mt Bachelor, the observatory. Need I say more? The cascara staff were very friendly and helpful especially Ashley

Memorial Weekend Getaway

Posted By: Iyan G. from Centralia , Washington | Posted On: Jun 7, 2016

Let me start by saying this IS NOT a bad review. The house was great, very woodsy, homey and inviting. Amenities were all there, bbq, hot tub, game room etc. That being said, the total living space is small and makes for pretty tight quarters. There is a very small kitchen and fairly small living room. We went with family and close friends so we enjoyed the fact it was fairly small. There are plenty of beds to sleep on as long as you have a few people that don't mind sleeping in the same room or area together. There are 3 rooms, 2 with Queen beds, one with twin bunks. They refer to one room as a seperate living quarters but it's just down a hallway from the other queen room. The whole house is all connected with all beds upstairs. They refer to having 2 lofts, when they should say there is a loft on the same landing where the pyramid bed is. Like I said, great house, great location, just a very quirky layout which makes for minimal privacy and not much room to roam. If you're looking for lots of space and rooms that are far apart, this house is not for you. This house is perfect for small families or a few adults who don't mind each other's company.

The layout of the house is very unique! Although, the only room that you have to walk through to get to the other bedrooms is the loft bunk area. Which is why it's listed as a loft and not an actual bedroom :) You definitely can't beat the location, really close to the popular amenities in Sunriver!

House is awesome!

Posted By: Sally S. from Ridgefield, WA | Posted On: Feb 6, 2016

We had a great stay and would stay here again! The house is all wood inside and beautiful. There were 2 adults and 3 kids in our party and we had 2 adults and 4 kids over for dinner and movie, with more than enough room. The 2 eating areas made it nice for kids to be in one area and adults in the other. This house has a huge set of log bunk beds (queen?) and then a climbing loft with a bed, which kids loved. They do need a blind on the dining window as that faces the traffic on Beaver and you can see inside to the upper level loft where the bunk beds are. (Looked like there was a blind there at one time.) I hung a blanket over the window to solve that. The house is very spread out with a walkway from the main house area to living quarters over the garage. This area has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and mini kitchen, which was great when kids were still sleeping in the loft area! Then you go down a cool spiral staircase to the game room! We enjoyed the hot tub and even used the BBQ with 2' of snow on the ground! All was wonderful and the house was very clean! We did have to wait awhile to get the keys at mgmt office. Which was a bit frustrating as there was more than 1 person in the office but only 1 at the front desk & person in front of us had a million questions. We just wanted the key to get to the house as we knew where it was and didn't need anything else. The other person did finally come wait on us. All and all a great place to stay and you will not be disappointed. And SHARC was awesome!

Perfect 1st Stay in Sunriver

Posted By: Andrew H. from Portland, OR | Posted On: Jan 12, 2016

Our family of 4 had a great stay in Diamond Peak 2. Check-in and out at the Cascara office was a piece of cake. The rental was fun with an over-the-top rustic bear theme. The Christmas decorations were a very much appreciated added touch, since we stayed for the week of Christmas. The layout of the bedrooms in the home is a little odd. You pass through one bedroom to get to the next. This wasn't a problem at all for us, but might be for groups that don't know each other so well. The pool table and hot tub were great and worked well. I think that any extended family (2 couples and 4-5 children) would enjoy this rental very much.

Great for kids

We were there with our grandkids. They loved the bunk beds & the loft. With three TV's & space to spread out, they could have alone time too. However, if stairs are a problem for you, this is not your ideal house.

Even in the heat...a GREAT place to stay!

Posted By: Ron or Annette H. from Salem, OR | Posted On: Jul 6, 2015

Our second year to stay in Diamond Peak 2 and we enjoyed it...even in the heat! Supplied with fans, in the evening we opened windows and by 11am the next day we closed everything up. The rest of the day anytime anyone entered the home, they would ask if we had air-conditioning! It was awesome! Not only a beautiful place, but a well insulated one. During the 95+degree days, we NEVER were hot - except when out bike riding, hiking, running, and generally enjoying Sunriver. Back in the cool off and go again. Thanks for a great stay! Lovely home, well maintained and spotless.

Spring break 2015

Posted By: Anonymous from Battle Ground, WA | Posted On: Apr 12, 2015

We liked the creative house plan. The pictures showed a small basketball hoop in the game room, but it wasn't there. The SHARC was a huge disappointment. Just not much to do in the off season. The kids were looking forward to the "surfing pool" that was at the old swimming pool.

Perfect Place-Perfect Location

Posted By: Ron or Annette H. from Salem, OR | Posted On: Jul 6, 2014

We are summer rental people and have for many years used Sunray. We are "southern" Sunriver rentals, but this time needed more space, so we gave Diamond Peak 2 (north of the village) a try. We may never go south again! Great house! It doesn't have air conditioning, but even though it was in the 90's - trees kept the house cool and we just used the fans (very generously spread throughout the house) a couple of times. The place is very well maintained - nothing else needed! We would recommend this place to everyone! Thanks Sunray and Smiths for allowing us the use of your very special home.

Great charm and great for kids

Posted By: Anonymous from Fortuna, CA | Posted On: Jun 12, 2014

We LOVED this house! Best rustic charm of any sunriver home we have ever stayed in and our kids loved it's uniqueness too and made much use of all the things there geared towards kids. That was a real plus. Sunray was awesome to work with as well - kept things extremely simple. Highly recommended!

Great house

Posted By: Anonymous from Poulsbo, OR | Posted On: Apr 16, 2014

The house and location were great.
The house has a lot of stairs and interesting configuration. There is almost a separate apartment attached for lots of privacy for 2 families. Kids will love this house! The only thing we were dissatisfied with was the hot tub did not work. After a long day of skiing we were looking forward to using it.
Great location.
