Uncorked, Sunriver Style 2017Calling all foodies and wine enthusiasts! Fall is on the way, which means it’s time for Uncorked, a celebration of wine, food, and relaxation. It takes place Sept. 15-16 at the lovely Benham Hall & John Gray Amphitheater in Sunriver, Oregon.

This year, Uncorked will feature 16 boutique wineries, as well as local cheese and decadent chocolates. No need to worry about transportation or designated drivers; if you stay in Sunriver you can walk where you need to go. Central Oregon has great weather in September!

Event admission for Uncorked is just $15 for those 21 and older (be sure to bring ID) and is good for both days (SROA member preference ID $12).

Admission price includes a stemless wine glass, one tasting token, and live music. Additional tastes sold by the vendors. Non-drinkers and those under 21 cost $5, and admission allows for event entry and music only. Live music and classes are also available during the weekend.

wine and cheese

Lumos Wine Company is one of the featured wineries that will be at Uncorked. The company has a historic family farm in Wren, Oregon, with views of the Oregon coast range. It grows grapes at three locations, including their home base in Wren, another north of Corvallis, and a third in the Willamette Valley. Its dedicated teams cultivate the grapes, make the wine, and offer tastings. Be sure to visit them and the 15 other wineries at Uncorked weekend.

Coming to Uncorked from across the border in Ferndale, Washington is artisan cheese company Ferndale Farmstead. It’s run by three generations of the Wavrin family, who make heritage cheese in the old-world Italian tradition. They use heirloom cultures and enzymes from a small culture house near Naples. All of their cheese is made in a closed-loop system where the animals live. You’ll definitely want to try their offerings.

Also, be sure to sample the tempting treats made by Holm Made Toffee Company from Bend, Oregon. The Holm family started sharing their toffee with others and eventually grew their business. Now they’ve been crafting artisan toffee for over 25 years. You’ll definitely be able to taste the love at their booth!

Besides food and wine, there will be other vendors you’ll want to check out. Be sure to stop by Embroidery Expressions from Tualatin, Oregon. They do beautiful, custom work on shirts, hats, and more, ideal for company logos or team names.
